I really enjoyed this book. I don't really have interest in boating but after seeing this girl on the news and such I had to pick up the book and read about her life. This book is simply awesome. It takes you step by step into a young girls boat ride around the world and how she does it by herself.
I want to say that this book was not really a Christian book but a nice read anyway. I enjoyed reading about Abby Sunderland and her family. The book flowed nicely and I could not put it down. I was amazed at how amazing this girl was the whole time she out on her boat going around the world. She is so strong and brilliant and I could never be like her. She fixed all kind of problems by herself on the boat such as mechanical problems, being wet all the time and more.
And reading about her ordeal made me appreciate how much I am thankful for and how much we can do something if we put our mind to it. She did so much for her age and it shows throughout her ordeal on the boat.
I also want to say that based on this book, the media had it all wrong. Her family did not push her into doing this trip, she wanted to and did it all on her own. The media also said that she was inexperienced and would not make it. But she did and on her own too. Near the end she did have to call for help and be rescued but the whole rest of the trip she did it by herself with no helping her and was very experienced. I will be sharing this book with everyone I know.
